After taking Project Beta to 3 car shows, it was time to take her to the race track. First we took Beta road course circuits for testing, but with the rising popularity of import drag racing, Beta was gradually converted from going around corners to tearing things up in a straight line. Even in road race trim, Beta was one of the fastest all motor drag cars of its time. With just a set of 22" gumball slicks, and no other changes, Beta ran 12.25 at one of the first NIRA events held at Bakersfield's Famoso Raceway.
