All-Motor Glory: Gavio, S2 Break Record

Imagine you’d spent months preparing for an event like last weekend’s All Motor Shootout held at Englishtown, New Jersey's Raceway Park. Imagine that, the week of, your engine lets loose on the dyno. You chalk it up as defeat but soon find yourself unable to sleep. And so you pull a few strings and assemble another engine only to find out, the day before the race at 5p.m., that this engine’s not much better. Thanks to helpful friends, a midnight machinist reworks the cylinder head and you’re back on the dyno race day morning. While you’re making a single dyno pass to ensure all’s well, the competition’s making test passes, dialing in their setups.

Jake Gavio need not imagine any of this. The now all-motor record holder went through all of this and more yet walked away with his quickest yet, 10.13-second pass.

Gavio’s F-series-powered Civic coupe relies on Pro-C Coilovers, a Pro Series Plus Front Camber Kit, and Rear Lower Control Arms—all from Skunk2—for dialing in his suspension and getting him down the track in record time.

Gavio: "The adjustability of the Skunk2 products allowed me to set up the car exactly how I wanted it. It’s hard to get a high horsepower, all motor car to launch well, but with the wide range of settings available to me, they’ve helped me do just that."
