In an effort to stay on top of our game, several weeks ago we reached out to the community, asking for everyone’s Skunk2-related, "hard-hitting" questions. The questions would be directed at Skunk2’s owner and founder, Dave Hsu. Everyone's opinions, questions, and concerns were addressed, and we’ll knock through the list one by one. Some claimed that we wouldn't keep our promise; others said we'd sugar coat the process entirely by cherry-picking the easy questions. Behold, Skunk2's Hard-Hitting questions are here. Thanks for your comments, chuckie. You make some good points. One thing that separates Skunk2 from some of the other companies is the amount of R&D that goes into each product. We really do need to ensure that there will be a significant amount of enthusiasts interested in whatever it is we're developing in order to make it worthwhile and stay in business.

are the valves retainers and springs from the h22 compatable with the h23a1 dohc 2.3 non vtec

I've built a 2.0 Liter B20Vtec and it currently is at 11:9:1 comp. This will be a nitrous motor. Current mods: Skunk2 tuner II, pro series cam gears, fuel rail, 70mm TB, reworked 1st gen manifold, and 60mm exhaust. I've hot a hytech production header on it. I am fitting the old 60mm exhaust on it and thinking I may need to go bigger what are your thoughts? Also whats the best way to fit a custom length cat/test pipe? Do I just order your flanges and have welded up? Would you recommend a flex pipe? Can I order all of these from Skunk2? Thanks for your time.

HKustoms, it sounds like you'll benefit from a larger, 70mm exhaust. As for the test pipe / catalytic converter, most muffler shops can provide you with the appropriate flanges and weld them to the appropriate length pipe or catalytic converter for an easy, bolt-on solution. Let us know when you're ready to upgrade your exhaust.

I was wondering if the pro series cams, springs, retainers and valves for the H22A1/A4 will fit in my H22A7 engine in my 99 Accord Euro R? If they do, does the Skunk2 throttle body and intake manifold fit to? Thanks for your time.

Sindre, the valvetrain, cams, and throttle body are compatible. The intake manifold will bolt onto your cylinder head, however, we don't have confirmation as to whether or not it will clear everything else under your hood.

I had just recently purchased my first Skunk2 product, a short shift kit for my 08 civic si. I love it! So I recently made up a list of future parts that I will be buying. The one question I had was this: Would you recommend the 60mm catback, or the 70mm catback with the following parts that will be added to my car:
intake manifold, alpha header, stage 3 tuner cams, with the necessary required parts, and 72mm throttle body. I had heard that if the piping diameter is too large, that I will lose power. I have no intention of installing a turbo or supercharger anytime soon, which is why I am not getting the 76mm catback. I might buy a turbo in the distant future. Thanks for any info!

Pete, glad to hear that you're happy with the short shifter. You'll definitely want to consider the 70mm MegaPower R Exhaust for your car. With those modifications, you'll definitely be able to take advantage of the larger piping.

I just got some lowering springs for my integra but which ones go where do the skinny long ones go in the front and the shorter ones in the back or is it the other way around
