You've read about Skunk2's Pro Series Timing Chain Tensioner here, you've watched the video here, now hear what the owner of Honda ECU-tuning company Hondata has to say about it and how it performs on the company's record-setting landspeed car. After failed OEM tensioners that couldn't survive a single dyno session, Macmillan found the solution in Skunk2's Pro Series tensioner.
"Hi Dave,
I called up Skunk2 late Friday with a problem. My wife's landspeed CRX with a built K20 had just destroyed two brand new cam chain tensioners while on the dyno preparing for this weekend's El Mirage race. Your team members came to our rescue with a heavy duty Skunk2 cam chain tensioner, which I picked up and fitted Saturday morning on the way to the race. The Skunk2 tensioner performed flawlessly and enabled us to remain in the championship with a 168mph record run on Sunday. As a result, the Hondata CRX has moved up from 7th to 4th place overall in the second of six championship races (results posted here).
I highly recommend the Skunk2 Timing Chain Tensioner to anyone running high-rpm, aggressively cammed K20 engines.
Please pass on my thanks to your staff and expect an order of tensioners for all our race motors.
Regards,
Doug Macmillan"
