Are You Kidding?
Tuning Future of the Honda CRZ

The emperor's new clothes!

Over the weekend I had the chance to go to the annual Eibach meet to check things out. Honda brought out one of the new CRZs for enthusiasts to check out. I can't figure out why people are trying to promote the CRZ as the next big thing. Other than looking cool, the CRZ is far from being a game-changing tuner/performance sport compact; it is everything BUT that. If I wanted a battery-powered grocery getter, I would buy a "Rascal;" at least with a Rascal I could actually drive it IN the grocery store. Maybe a car with a battery-assisted 1.5L engine and a "sporty look"' might appeal to some, but the only hybrids that I think are cool are the ones with B, F, H, J, and K swaps.

Am I one the only one who's noticed that the emperor is not wearing any clothes?

Forget it people, hybrid is the new technology. The next generation of sports cars like the upcoming Supra, MR2, EVO and the Z, they are all going to be hybrids. The evo is the saddest story, Im a huge fan and Im disheartened its going to be offered a diesel hybrid powertrain. Not to even mention a turbocharger. To survive, the tuning industry must change. No point hating because it won't do a thing. You think the automotive officials will listen to your constant whining about hybrids? I think you should still feel glad about them having at least a petrol engine. Dont forget, if hybrids are not bad enough, EVs are still in their mind. Im not a hybrid fan either, but i have learnt to execpt it. Have you seen what Bisimotos CRZ could do? I respect Bisi and before you hate on him, please go find out what he really did to the car and understand how hard it is to calibrate the ECU settings. Big powered petrol motors are going to die-off, now its about useable power and efficiency at the same time. Change, or go back driving trucks.
