My Skunk Tour
So Sportcar Motion’s Loi Song wakes me up one morning, one of my last mornings in SoCal during my annual SEMA trip. This dude’s English is foul! But I somehow make out him saying that we’d be heading to Skunk2 that day. So I jump into the black DC2 (a car that was, oddly enough, the then time attack street champ) and leave Sportcar Motion headed to the land of Skunk. On the way there it is strongly established that I drive like a grandma.

I get to Skunk2 a few hours later and it's dark out. We all start to help Dave, Tony, the Oscars, and crew set up for the open house the following day. The parts collection laying on the ground out back was the stuff of Christmas! There were probably 20-plus sets of cams, suspension pieces of numerous cars Skunk’s built, and even a set of ITBs that were tits—carbon stacks, K20 hardware and all. I need something like these for my setup, but at the time I had no clue that I’d eventually have a K-series of my own.

Hanging out in the main lobby, waiting to take a stroll through the the R&D department and then into the shop.

Inside Skunk2's secret R&D department. This is where everything from cams to intake manifolds are developed.

Skunk2 owner and founder Dave Hsu showing us around the warehouse. Check out the Evo on the chassis rotisserie behind him.

Dave showing us around the CNC machining area.

One of Skunk2's many pieces of equipment.

Just laying out parts for the garage sale.

I want.

Back inside the R&D lab. Check out that nostalgia hanging on the wall.

No, but there's a park across the street.
