Evo Owners: Want 33 More HP?
You already know about Skunk2’s recently released Pro Series Intake Manifold for Mitsubishi’s Evo VII-IX but now we’ve got third-party dyno results for you to chew on. How does a 33.7whp gain sound? All we did was pair the Pro Series manifold with a Skunk2 Pro Series Throttle Body and let it rip on the dyno. Want 33 more hp for your Evo? Get it here.

Peak gains as high as 33+ whp from the Pro Series Intake Manifold have been found when paired with Pro Series Throttle Bodies with positive results across the board, beginning as low as 3,200 rpm.

I have heard there are fitment issues pertaining to the Evo IX, in regards to fitment around the MIVEC control module and cylinder head water pipe. Are the fitment issues going to be addressed or is the manifold going to be redesigned to make this product easier to install for Evo IXs? The forum users have said they had to get their manifold machined for clearance, are there any known issues installing this manifold on a VIII?

We know there is some chatter on the boards about the manifold. There were some reports of manifolds in the intial release that interfered with the Evo9 solenoid by 2mm (or approx 0.080") or less. There is no such issue on the Evo8. It is easy enough for any installer to grind or file it to fit. The pre-production unit that we approved didn't have any issues so we believe may be caused by slight variations in the part position in the machining fixture. It has been addressed for the next production run. Considering that we won't have anymore for sometime, I wouldn't let this hold you back from getting it if you access to one.

Are the directions good as far as the hoses and fittings that are omitted from the stock manifold to the Skunk?
