Crackhead Prices, Show Cars, and Hot Dogs in the Morning
S2 GARAGE SALE AND CAR SHOW
The smell of Ball Park franks being grilled by Dr. Charles at 9:45 in the morning was enough to lure Skunk2 fans from across SoCal (and as far off as Mexico) to the S2 facilities for another one of the company’s legendary garage sales. Enthusiasts woke at the crack of dawn Saturday and lined up against the gate as Skunk2 once again opened its doors, this time pairing the sale with the company’s first-ever people’s choice car show, where S2 guests voted for their favorite rides and more than $1000 worth of cash and prizes was given away. Skunk2 parts and merchandise were once again made available to enthusiasts at up to 40 percent off with the entire inventory on sale, including everything from Pro C coilovers and MegaPower exhaust systems to Pro Series camshafts and composite fuel rails. S2 fans stocked up and walked away with boxes of valvetrain components, camber kits, manifolds, and more.

More than 300 enthusiasts had the opportunity to vote for their favorite cars among the 40-spot field that winded around the Skunk2 facility May 30. Standouts included Michael Velarde’s root beer-brown EP3 Civic Si that handily took home First Place honors and $500 worth of Skunk2 gift certificates and cash. Brian Nguyen’s Mugen-themed, Jackson Racing-supercharged ’05 RSX rolling on polished MF10s took home Second, with Tommy Ha’s Go Tuning-sponsored, ASM-equipped S2000 following up in Third Place.

The S2 team held raffles throughout the day, giving away merchandise like T-shirts and compact discs, with Skunk2 stickers and posters made available to visitors free of charge until the gates shut. Skunk2 even opened the doors to its shop and R&D lab where guests could get up close and personal with the company’s time attack EVO, supercharged RSX, Fit R, and Civic SiR2 race cars. Guests remained occupied while shopping for S2 products and gear, checking out and voting on their favorite cars, and getting a taste of Skunk2’s facilities from the time the gates opened to nearly six hours later when the last car rolled away. And, of course, those hot dogs were being grilled up all day long for a buck. You simply can’t ask for much more than that.
