I think one of the best things about our industry is the way that enthusiasts can come together and build a community all around a common car, part, interest, or even region. A few of the members (Will and Orioll) over on the popular message board 8thcivic.com used to always get comments about their Skunk2 Megapower R Exhausts and how they sounded like aeroplanes or jets when driving by. After hearing this comment a few times they decided to start a thread (or "online crew") that members could join called the "Skunk2 Airlines Crew". This was the first post:

"There's been quite a few new threads about the Skunk2 Exhaust and people getting them, and Me and Will recently came up with a name for the Civics with Skunk2 Exhaust, Skunk2 Airlines, since the sound of the car resembles an aeroplane according to some people, especially if you have a header. So what the heck, we decided to make it a crew and start a thread, so if you have a Skunk2 Exhaust, join!

Before people start bashing this thread, it's all for fun, so relax, sit back, and enjoy the flight! From Skunk2 Airlines, thank you for flying with us!"

The thread ended up getting quite popular, and eventually everyone that had a Skunk2 Exhaust on that forum started hopping aboard Skunk2 Airlines and posting in the thread. In fact, once a new board member got their exhaust, it seems the first place they would go is to register their screen name on the Skunk2 Airlines Crew roster list in the thread.

Today the thread has over 200 members and is over 100 pages long. Skunk2 would like to thank the members of 8thcivic.com for being such loyal customers and for creating this viral online community.
