Most of you probably wouldn’t recognize Skunk2’s owner, Dave Hsu, even if you bumped right into him. And we’re guessing you probably know very little about him other than what you read here. Perhaps this one video will sum up the man’s personality for you then…or at least partially. ... Read More »

To the Intern Extraordinaire
Last year we had the opportunity to bring an intern (Ricardo) into the engineering department for the summer. We really weren't planning on having an intern, but he showed a great deal of persistence, and a willingness to "do whatever it takes," including working for free, which are both admirable and rare qualities, so we decided to bring him on for the summer. ... Wanna know what Skunk2's mission is? A while back I was reading a book called Tribes. It was written by an author by the name of Seth Godin. In Tribes Godin describes the rapidly evolving marketplace and how it has changed the paradigm by which companies must function to survive. The "tribe" as Godin describes is any community(s) of users and enthusiasts, and ultimately the goal of good companies should be to listen to and support the "tribe." This book puts into words a general philosophy that we embrace and consistently work toward at Skunk. I encourage you to read this book ... Read More »

Datsun 280Z
Found some pictures of my first project car. Shortly after getting my license, I inherited my dad's silver 1975 Datsun 280Z. At the time I was working at a hamburger joint as a bus boy, but when I got the car, I decided to make a career change and got a job pumping gas at the local Chevron station. As boring as pumping gas and cleaning the station might sound, it was one of the best jobs I ever had because I got to mess with my car at night. Because I did a good job at keeping the service area cleaned and organized, the mechanics would leave me with the keys to their toolboxes, giving me ... Read More »
